Coban GPS tracking software
The old, cheap workhorse - millions sold, still working in cars everywhere.
Coban devices speak a plain text protocol that has been copied by many other makers, so a no-name tracker with an SMS manual often turns out to be one of these. Basic but dependable: position, ignition, engine cut and an SOS button.
Connect a Coban tracker
- Server
- device.gpsaero.com
- Port
- 5001
- Protocol
- gps103 (TCP)
Usual configuration by SMS (the password is often 123456):
adminip123456 device.gpsaero.com 5001
Add the tracker in the panel with its IMEI, set the address above on the device, and it appears on the map at its next report. Nothing else inside the tracker is changed, so it keeps doing whatever it did before.
Models in this family
Another model from the same maker will almost always speak the same protocol and connect the same way. If yours is not listed, ask us and we will check it.
Questions
- Does Aero Global Limited support Coban?
- Yes. Coban trackers (TK103, TK103-2, GPS103-A, GPS103-B and others in the family) connect using the gps103 protocol and are supported today.
- Which port does a Coban tracker use?
- Port 5001 over TCP, at device.gpsaero.com. Set that address and port on the tracker and it will appear on the map as soon as it reports.
- Can I keep my Coban trackers if I change platform?
- Yes. Nothing is changed inside the tracker except the server address it reports to, so the same hardware keeps working and no vehicle has to be visited.
Try it with your own Coban
Point one tracker at the server and watch it on the map before you move the rest. Nothing is changed on the vehicle.
